ON MOONLIT NIGHTS

The moon shines through the night,
A quiet light in the velvet sky,
A quiet soul that watches me,
Wondering why,
I lie awake on this moonlit night.

I lie awake and quiet,
My heart beating its quiet rhythm,
I lie awake and think,
Who makes the music in my heart.

I lie awake and think,
As the moon shines through the velvet sky,
The music in my soul,
Is it from God above?

The music leads me,
Through nights like this,
As I lie alone,
Awake on moonlit nights.

It leads me,
Through caves of sorrow,
And outside the sun shines bright,
I lie awake in this dark cave,
A solitary soul.

It leads me through days bright,
No cloud, No rain.
The music hums within me,
And shows me a world unknown.

Tonight the moon is bright,
I lie awake listening,
To this music, this song,
That leads me and keeps me strong.
