As Lightening
Wove memories across
The trembling sky
He thought
Of eyes
That could sing
Away, his trembling thoughts.
He listened
To the little drops
That found their souls
On glass, on concrete
On green leaves
That waited.
He listened
To the little drops
That came from one soul
And went away
Unannounced
No goodbyes
Nor teary eyes
Just promises to return
To touch your soul
And fill it with light.
"Light", he thought
And saw her there,
And promised
To hold her
Forever
And promised
To keep his promises.
"Promises", he thought
And wondered
If they mattered
At all.
Souls were united
Not through promises
Nor accidents
But lives
That waited
Like little green leaves
Waiting
For little drops
That could make
The sky
Tremble.
